Solar energy really seems to be taking off, and it's about time too. The 6 in 1 Solar Robot Kit takes full advantage of that flaming ball of gas, not 93,000,000 miles away, we lovingly call the sun. It's a DIY beginner's kit that's perfect for anyone with more than a passing interest in robots (which is everyone, surely?). You can build the kit 6 different ways which means once you've finished making one robot, you can take it apart and turn it into a solar powered boat, windmill, or car and that's just 3 of them. The diagrams are very easy to follow, we even let the office luddite have a go at building one. Not only is it really fun to make but it's great for showing you solar power in action, so it's educational as well as fun to make.
If you live somewhere that doesn't get a lot of sunlight (anywhere in mainland UK for instance) you'll be very happy to hear that the sun isn't the only source of energy this kit can draw power from. A 50 watt halogen lightbulb will do the trick, meaning you can even play with your robot on those rainy winter days. The 6 in 1 Solar Robot kit is just the ticket for the eco conscious roboteer.
A solar powered robot kit that can be used to build six different models including:

Good Fun
This 6 in 1 Solar Robot Kit brings out the child in us. Nice easy instructions, easy to build and really good fun. Just wish we had more sunshine, but looking for a lamp with the right sort of output added to the adventure.

No More Batteries - Much More Fun
I'm a bit of a science geek and love anything eco/green so I bought this with high hopes. It doesn't disappoint; I've had hours of fun playing with the various combinations in which the solar panel can be used. Highly Recommend.

Makes a change
Hi we bought this gift for my son's friends 18th Birthday as a silly extra rather than the cliched 18 mug. He was absolutely made up with this gift and couldn't wait to start building his robots (18 or 8?) - it just goes to show that little boys NEVER grow up, so basically this gift is for anyone of any age and fantastic value for money...he's still playing with it now, 3 months on. can I also say how impressed we were with the speed of delivery. It's no wonder IWOOT has won 5 National Customer Service Awards. Keep up the good work!

Great little sustainable energy kit!
I'm a school teacher and i'm always on the look out for cool ready to go kits that teach and engage kids with something in a really easy hands on way. This is right on the money! The kit is easy to assemble with simple instructions and colour coded parts. Once you've assembled the first model, its then over to you to swap and change bits to transform a desk fan into a mini car, or any of the other models. I am so pleased with this i'm going to use it to inspire my product design students to design their next great idea! I think any child (or kid-dult) would enjoy messing about with this for hours of fun. Get one now!

Multi-talented Robot!!
I bought this for my Dad's birthday (he's over 50) and he absolutely loves it!! He made the wee airplane first and was so impressed with it that a week later we had to force him to take it apart and build one of the other robots! He's tried all 6 now and every time we come to visit he drags us in to see which robot he's got spinning, walking or driving around on his desk!! So thanks IWOOT - very successful gift ideas!!!!!

A great bit of fun!
This was a Father's Dat present from the kids ...It was straight forward to put together and it worked even when the sunlight was not that strong. Really impressive. It kept Dad busy for a while and then the kids as the blades whizzed around when the sun shone more brightly. A good price for something that worked well. Overall fantastic!

GREAT Toy! Great for any kid of ANY age!
I purchased the 6 in 1 Solar Robot kit for my loved one as a birthday gift. We had stumbled upon iWoot and I bookmarked it as a site with cool things! I am in the USA and was looking for an overseas based website to order gifts from for him and some of my friends based there (he is in Ireland atm). I was excited to order this, along with a few other things off this site, and couldn't wait for him to recieve this. Come midnight on his birthday, he tore through his box like a little boy and was looking at everything and was so super excited with everything. He came upon this gift and could not wait to 'get his hands dirty' and see what this robot kit could do in action! Later on, during a lull from work, he opened this box and started to put it together. We were calling at the time and it was so neat to hear him read the instructions and just delve into building this! He was just like a little boy in a candy store! He built the puppy first and put it in direct sunlight! All I heard for several minutes was "It works! my love! HAHAHA! It's wagging its tail! sooooo cooollll, my love! I want to try the rest!" over and over! He then showed me the puppy in action via webcam and it really does work and its sooooo coool! The product works very well. Even better than we thought. It does need to be in direct bright light but its a SOLAR robot right? It worked perfectly and he cannot wait to build everything it is supposed to turn into! He reports that the instructions are easy to follow and that it is fun to get into building this toy! We were so impressed! I m so happy he loved this! The smiles spread across his face told the story. Perfectly! Further, the service from iWoot was better than anything I've ever dealt with, anywhere! From ordering, to billing, to shipping, wrapping and fast service..everything was perfect! The smiles on my man's face was beyond worth it. I definitely recommend this product to everyone..and have already forwarded this (and iWoot) to many friends! This product is highly recommended! Any kid, young or old..will love it! ORDER IT! You won't regret it!

Big Kid Kept Quiet! Woo hoo!
Well, it CAN be done! He CAN be kept quiet! SO worth the money for the peace it brings. Fantastically fast little robot no matter which one you build- our Bearded Dragon is a bit hacked off with it though, as his light was used to get the car version moving. Poor thing kept bashing his head on the top of the cage trying to get at the weird plastic thing careering overhead. All in all a fab buy, great for normal kids, big kids and even bigger kids (I'll let my other half figure out which category I've put him in there!)

Excellent buy
Amazing way to keep kids entertained and quiet for hours.Very sturdy looks hard but extremely simple to make and keeps dad quiet aswell. A multi purpose toy. Make it any way, any where. Stretch neck after a bit gets very addictive and stiffens you neck from the time staring at it. Needs alot of energy to work it just works when I put it up to a 40watts bulb. Very good

Coolest gadget toy yet.
I bought this one for good old dad and guess what....despite his birthday being a month ago he still hasn't put it down! There are ofcourse 6 models to be built with the toy and my personal favourite was the revolving aeroplane. However, you'll find yourself building a model just to take it to pieces and make a new one! Think of those childhood Mecano sets crossed with cool robotics and viola! The 6-in-1 Solar Robot Kit! Well done for finding this one IWOOT! It gets a clean 9/10 from me!

get them outside
We try not to buy anything for our grandchild related to playing computer games, with batteries or items other than books, that keep them in the house. Too many kids are couch / computer potatoes. This toy really starts to get a kid's brain working and thinking. It is also a good idea for a present for BIG KIDS

A hit with my kids
I bought this for my 6 and 8 yr old boys. They love it, it's a little on the fiddly side for my 6 yr old, but his 8 yr old brother helps him and anything that promotes teamwork with those 2 is worth the money in my book. They've had lots of fun building and rebuilding, they've take it's various incarnations to school to show to their friends. It only works in direct sunlight, so they've had lots of fun finding out if 'sunny Scotland' is sunny enough for their robots to function and getting excited when it is! Overall, a lovely creative and educational toy that's providing hours of amusement with my kids.

I bought this kit for my nearly 9 year old son for Christmas. He built a windmill first and was delighted to see the blade turning under our 50W halogen light bulb in the kitchen. It was a simple kit to teach young children electronics and why an energy saving light bulb saves energy. The only disappointment is that the British winter sun was not strong enough to power the car.

Excellent stocking filler
The person I bought it for enjoyed putting them together. Said that they worked better by shining a torch directly onto the solar panel, but didn't work too well by sunlight.

Great Fun Product
Bought as a Christmas gift for my 8 year old son. He has had loads of fun rearranging it however possibly not the best toy to buy in a country with limited sunshine ! Be sure you have an accessible lamp to charge it in the meantime. Great toy though.

A toy for big kids too
I bought this last minute as a stocking filler present for my partner. He absolutely loved it, secretly I think it was his favourite present but at 31 years of age I think he tried to cover himself by saying he really loved his new set of screwdrivers!!!! Firstly he made the aeroplane but I made him change it into the cute looking puppy!!!! He has since tried all the variations and they all looked good! He even got them working under the kitchen light which put a massive smile on his face!!! Boys and their toys eh!

How to please a grandson buy a 6 in 1 solar robot
Ordering over the web near christmas is can be fraught with and also a risk. However, I cannot fault the service from "I want one of those". The web site was easy to use, the choice large, and the ordering process clear and concise. The delivery options simple and easy to understand with the the delivery promise kept to. I would have no hesitation in recommending this web site or using again myself. One very satisfied customer

No power
There is not enough sunlight in December to power this robot - so we've never seen it working. Didn't realize it could not be charged under a household lamp. Total dissapointment to my child.

One happy brother!
My brother is, quite frankly, a bit of a geek. I remembered that we liked to play with lego when we were younger, saw this and had to get it for him. Unfortunately, by the time he got around to giving it a go on Xmas Day it was dark out, so he tried again on Boxing Day and was very impressed - although he did refuse to look at the instructions!

Well Worth the Money!
Just wanted to say thanks so much to IWOOT, excellent customer service, prompt delivery and an excellent product, enough to make my boyfriend's office jealous and impressed, he's now anxiously awaiting lunchtime so he can play with it again! It's interactive, interesting and quite frankly just plain cool! Made me feel a little better about not being able to spend his birthday with him.
