blast from the past
The box for the Morph and Chas Bookends arrived surprisingly well wrapped and upon close inspection, the characters are very realistic, just like Tony Hart would have done. I half expected Morph to speak when I removed him from the box. They both have wire extensions (not obvious from the online picture) which helps hold any books placed between them well. All in all, a good addition to my study.
As soon as I saw these, I knew I must have them! I have so many books they overflow my bookcases, so I was on the look-out for bookends and these fill the spot. I have distinct memories of watching Morph with my two children, and my son, now 36, visiting the other day noticed the bookends immediately. A long nostalgic chat ensued. This was an impulse buy but one with which I'm delighted. The bookends are heavy enough to hold a load of books upright, and look wonderful. I would highly recommend them as a functional and very affordable novelty .
Chas & Morph bookends
Pleased with the quality of the Morph and Chas Bookends. I just hope they are strong enough to hold heavier books, as there is only a thin metal curved bar to slot under the books and hold the figurines in place. I was tempted to keep them myself as they look so nice - I will just have to order another set!
I bought the Morph and Chas Bookends as a fun present for my boyfriend as he loves to relive things from his childhood. Plus, we needed them to hold up the copious amounts of cookery books in our kitchen. They are a perfect size, look adorable and have pride of place in our new house. A wonderful, funny gift for loved ones or just to treat yourself and relive your childhood.
Made a Brilliant Present
I saw these Morph and Chas Bookends on the site and knew my 39 year old daughter would love it! It's part of her heritage! I was proved right when she opened it and I was a most popular Mum and everyone who visited was so impressed, wanting to know where I'd found them. They're beautifully made and so unique. I think they might become an heirloom.
Make your books stand-out
As a student I am supposed to read many books and all these books don't stand up by themselves. Chas and Morph have replaced the previous makeshift bookends of empty Vodka bottles, filled with water. This not only allows me to look less like an alcoholic but also adds a touch of nostalgia to my room. The figurines are heavy enough to hold folders, anthologies and the healthy-living cookbooks which I never use. They also have a handy base which extends underneath the books at the end of the row that ensures the books don't slip and the bookends always remain in place. Thanks IWOOT, something I did need and really, really wanted!
The Morph and Chas Bookends are cool, almost as cool as the picture. My only quibble (and the reason I gave this 3 stars instead of 5) is that Chas is the wrong colour. He's fine in the picture, but the actual bookend is a light grey instead of cream coloured. Morph looks great though, and otherwise I'm very happy.
