The Gold Bullion Doorstop is not quite as heavy as the advert implied. I'd say perhaps a 1/3 of the weight? Easily lifted with 1 hand, but other than nit-picking with the weight, it's a great novelty item. The one I kept for our house gets all the guest's attention.

That's the whole review, really. If you want a door held open, and your bank manager replies 'Insufficient funds' when you ask for a bar of gold bullion for the purpose, this is the solution.
It was of better quality than I thought it would be and being 1kg in weight it felt the part!

I was very pleasantly surprised when the Gold Bullion Doorstop arrived. So often things are half the size they appear in the picture, but this was, if anything, bigger than I was expecting. Very heavy, too, so there's no chance of your door closing in the breeze. Buy one for the money obsessed person in your life!

I bought these as a gift for dinner party guests. It's a James Bond theme so quite fitting. Can be used as door stop or paper weight. Looks like proper gold and nicely packaged.

We bought this Gold Bullion Doorstop as a joke present for our son who had dabbled a bit with gold on a well known auction website. The parcel arrived while we were out and the postman had to leave one of his "you need to collect a parcel from the sorting office" cards. When I did so the guy behind the counter commented that it was a chunky parcel and I said "It should be, its a gold bar". His face was a picture and I opened the box to prove my story - and then told him the truth! We have yet to visit our son but I am sure that his reaction will be very similar when he opens the parcel.

This was a thank you present for my brother and his wife who live in a big old house by the sea in Dunloaghaire Co. Dublin with big doors, some of which don't stay open as they are quite heavy. I bought this as a present for someone who keeps getting locked out of his flat when the door slams shut. He loved it, downside, everybody who visits has to pick it up and have a look thus allowing the door to slam shut!

The gold bullion doorstop was useful fro the moment it was delivered (and very promptly too).No sooner was it out of its box and gift wrapped for my husband,it was put to use, propping the french window open so that our cat could get in and out during a particularly cold spell.There it stayed,in its gold sparkly paper,untl the cat toppled the christmas tree on one of its visits in,and the trusty gold bar was used to prop up the dodgy leg of the xmas tree stand. On xmas morning my husband unwrapped his gift and was most pleased,making the whole family catch it in turn to admire its beauty (and to avoid a broken nose).It was then used as a helicopter landing pad for my sons new toy,before I borrowed it a a weight while I wrapped a forgotten present.On boxing day it was used to sort and calm an unruly pile of my husbands invoices,and it is now having a well earned rest, wedging our bedroom door open so the cat can sneak onto our duvet for a 2am cuddle, its gold beauty radiating into the room! thankyou IWOOT
