Paper JamZ

After causing a real stir at various toy fairs, these Paper Jamz Guitars have gotten us all in touch with our inner rockstar here at IWOOT, too. Quite simply, they allow anyone to be a proficient guitarist without having to go through the rigmarole of learning chords and fingerings. Consequently, it's a fraction of the price of a real guitar and much easier to master. It's enough to make you want to don some leather trousers and perm your hair.

There are different modes that allow you to play in different ways. First of all, you can just play the guitar freestyle - you can play major, minor and seventh chords by placing one, two or three fingers down on your chosen fret, meaning that you can play pretty much any old song in the rock canon with ease. Thanks to the touch sensitive technology, you won't shred your fingers to bits on metal strings - all you have to do is lightly plonk them in the desired location and stroke your right hand across the 'strings' to play them.

The other mode allows you to play along with some pre-installed rock classics. Simply by strumming along while the backing track plays (through the built-in speaker), you can take over lead guitar duties and feel like you're in a real band! Get you, you big rockstar. Next thing you know, you'll be demanding all the blue M&Ms are removed from your rider and drinking cocktails served by trained monkeys. The list of songs (all licensed) is great, and there are three per guitar style. So you can blues it up with Deep Purple, or don your scummiest jeans for 'Blitzkrieg Bop', or even go all sensitive with 'Hey There Delilah' - the choice is yours.

If guitars aren't doing it for you (or if you've already made Jimmy Page look like a musical Luddite with your axe-work), then it's time to move on to percussion. The Paper Jamz Drums consist of five eminently whack-able drums that allow you to play over classic built-in songs, or join in with your guitar-slinging pals for a full band assault. Rock 'n' roll just got a whole lot more affordable!

With the Paper Jamz Amplifier in your sonic arsenal, you can really kick out the jams at full volume. They're lightweight, cardboard and portable like the guitars, but crucially give you that extra bit of 'oomph' (that's a technical musician's term, in case you were wondering) and the ability to take your Paper Jamz guitar anywhere.
