Handpresso Wild Instant Espresso
Just because you're out and about doesn't mean you have to forego that all important espresso moment. This outstanding invention allows you to easily brew up an excellent shot of the perfect espresso whether you're in the park or half way up a mountain in the wilderness and in need of a shot. Super light-weight and portable, the Handpresso Wild prepares a tasty espresso with a perfect crema using a patented high pressure extraction system. You simply pump up the handle to 16 bar (a gauge ensures you hit the perfect pressure every time), add water from your thermos to the mini reservoir, slip in a coffee pod, and fire off your espresso. It's a quite brilliant invention that's been beautifully executed and designed and now it's available as part of a stunning Handpresso Outdoor Set.
All Handpresso machines use E.S.E. pods (Easy Serving Espresso). It is an open standard guaranteeing an outstanding quality. E.S.E. pods are not to be confused with soft pods. These pods are sold in the coffee section in most supermarkets, and loads of coffee sellers have them on-line. More than a hundred coffee merchants make pods that meet the E.S.E standards, so finding your favourite coffee is no big deal (though we're particular fans of Illy).

No more hotel Nescafe!
My main motivation for buying this Handpresso Wild Instant Espresso was to be able to get some decent coffee in hotel rooms. There's only so many years of instant coffee sachets that you can stand; even quite posh hotels tend to fall into this trap. Having said that I dithered over this purchase for quite a long time, because it seems a bit expensive. Once you get the thing in your hands though you can see why - the build quality is absolutely amazing. Very solid and beautifully made. And it works! Pumping up to 16 bar takes just a couple of dozen short strokes; it's really not labour intensive or difficult and the pump never becomes hard to work. Then just push the button and out comes the coffee - a perfect espresso, ready to be topped up to an Americano or whatever. It's quite impressive really. I'd definitely recommend the device; it's a bit expensive but really rather good.
Expresso for a lifestyle
I bought a Handpresso Kit for a friend who had recently taken early retirement after recovering from a life-threatening illness. He has most of life's necessities, including a coffee machine in his home. He makes the coffees for guests, and is pretty expert. His wife ( who continues to be his "boss") is an expresso lover. They decided they want to do a lot of travelling in this country and abroad now that he has retired. They are grateful that he is alive and well enough to consider this. The gift ensures that he can still make his wife a coffee in bed/tent or whatever. They thought the idea of the gift was clever and it solved the question of what to give a man who really does have everything. I had never heard of 'iwabtoneofthose' until a colleague told me about the site and I will definitely use it again. Kathy
