It doesn't get any cuter than this - a dinky hamster or meerkat friend who repeats whatever you say to him (or her, we haven't quite decided yet). Give their little paws a squeeze and just chatter away - anything they hear will be spoken back to you. This may prove infuriating if you're trying to argue with one of the little fellas, but chances are you'll be unable to resist their charms and chat to them all day.
You can speak to your furry friend for up to 5 seconds and it will repeat back what you've said in either a high or low pitched voice at random. The clever thing is that it will switch itself off after speaking 4 times to prevent unnecessary battery drainage and avoiding annoying repetitive chatter!
The meerkats come in... well, meerkat brown, being meerkats, and the hamsters come in either grey, beige or ginger. Whichever one you go for, they're the only static objects you should ever be seen talking to for any length of time.

Limited talk time
I have the meerkat version of the chatimals. Clearly they are very amusing and can provide quite a good laugh at parties. The only two points that I have is that you only have about 4 seconds to talk before they start to repeat what you say and the complete session lasts only 30 seconds; you need to squeeze it's little paw to get another 30 seconds. This would be better set at 2 minutes per session with a little more time to talk at one time, than the 4 to 5 seconds. But they are still worth buying and can raise quite a laugh.

Saw one in coffee shop in Edinburgh while son was in hospital. The owner was great fun and the meerkat at the counter copied the customers in a funny voice which made me laugh. (The meerkat promptly copied which made us laugh even more!) I asked the owner where to buy one as it was hubby's birthday that week - he found it hilarious and it is a great favourite with the grandchildren. It even picked up the 8 week old baby cooing and repeated the sounds furthering an interaction with baby and meerkat!
great little present
I bought my 91 year old mother a Chatimal Meerkat for Christmas, and she loved it. Bought another for my grand-daughter and she loved it as well. I have never met anyone who has not been amused and enchanted with them. Great, unusual present for people of all ages. 91 years right down to 5 years old.

The Chatimal was a Mother's Day present and my mother was very pleased with the talking meerkat.

I've bought this Chatimal Meerkat for my husband for Christmas as he loves the meerkat adverts. It is hidden away but I'm very tempted to give it to him sooner. I've shown it to my friends, none of us can stop laughing and my 18 month old labrador is totally in love with it.

Bought this for my husbands 60th...he loves meercats!! Met up with best friends Whitsun...never had so much fun and laughter with meercat...they loved it so much..they bought it off us and now i am ordering another Meercat..so glad i can still buy one..thanks for a fun,fun product.

I LOVE IT! I bought this for a friend's birthday as we both have a thing for meerkats. I don't really want to give her it now! Very fast delivery, and was well packaged.
