No, it's nothing to do with the Cottingley hoax, these are genuinely magical fairies that kids can make fly all around them. Supplied with everything they'll need to get them flying around your head, these Flitter Fairies literally flitter about in a truly magical fashion. Of course, a little bit of cleverness is required to complete the illusion. There's a hairclip to which you can attach a strand of Pixie Silk and your Fairy, making it easy to then control the Fairy's flight with the magic wand. It's surprisingly simple for such a convincing effect. There's even a booklet explaining where these Flitter Fairies come from ('Slightly Above Time', in case you were wondering) that allows your little ones to get totally involved with the whole story.

Sooner than you can say "how the flip are you doing that?", they'll be merrily running around the bottom of the garden with their Flitter Fairy flying all around them. Guaranteed to make almost anyone believe in magic, this is a great illusion with really rather charming little characters.
