As Good As New!
This is the most inexpensive manufacturer-refurbished Kindle of its kind I've come upon; and, as my nickname might suggest, I've done a fair bit of shopping around. I have bought various reconditioned items over the years and have found them to be, in appearance and function, "as good as new": particularly items reconditioned, or re-manufactured, or refurbished (call it what you will) by the original manufacturer. This Kindle, the first dedicated e-reader I've used, has more than lived up to my expectations. The adjustable text is easy on the eye; an unfamiliar word can be dictionary-checked by moving a cursor to the left of it; the wireless connectivity is most effective; and there are several dictionaries and comprehensive instructions on the use of the e-reader included with the software. Also, the battery charging is easily done with the included USB cable; moreover, a single charging of the batteries allows the reader to function for the longest time. I was most impressed too by the attractiveness and variety of the screen-saver images. I feel that it just couldn't be better!
Best! Thing! Ever!
As a person with health issues including: chronic migraines and easily dislocated fingers and wrists, I was somewhat sceptical about getting a Kindle and whether I was a "Kindle person". Then I got one and was impressed. There's no more eye strain, flickering text on too white a page or squinting at too small a font. No more propping up those mammoth bedtime books that weigh as much as a phone directory. The typeface is perfect and makes for easy reading. It's so lightweight, it's hard to realise at first just how many pages worth of text this little gadget can hold... well over a thousand, apparently. I've read so much more since getting the Kindle, it's just so much easier on my eyes.
My endless book
I have had a kindle since Christmas and I love it. I love how lightweight it is and that on any given day I can browse thousands of books that I might want to read, and a huge percentage of free to download books which have been really good reads. It keeps me occupied on long journeys and I even take it to work when I have slow periods. The best thing is if I fall asleep or have to do something it saves the page I'm on. A must for anyone.
