Woody Allen's first foray in directing sees him take an pre-existing Japanese spy thriller called International Secret Police: Key of Keys and dub it with his own hilarious script. The result is both an uproarious slice of cinematic kitsch and a wonderfully funny spy spoof. With its plot about rival spies trying to track down the secret recipe for the world's greatest egg salad and sending up all manner of spy films from In Like Flint to James Bond, the film is an obvious influence on Mike Myers' Austin Powers movies.
