Tom drives the Lilac Bus every Friday evening from Dublin to the village of Rathdoon. The bus carries five disparate passengers who have all reached a crossroads in their lives.
The group are Judy, the hippie, sad at being separated from her children, Dee, who discovers she's betrayed by her lover, Nancy, who has a reputation for meanness, Celia, the nurse and Mikey, the bank porter, teller of bad jokes and eternal bachelor.
They all, in their own manner, experience a dramatic life changing weekend and all return as usual, on the Lilac Bus back to Dublin on Sunday evening., Tom drives the Lilac Bus every Friday evening from Dublin to the village of Rathdoon.
