Laurel And Hardy - Armed Forces Box Set

The 'everyman' aspect of Laurel and Hardy's characters drew them towards tackling numerous occupations. It was therefore inevitable that they should turn to various aspects of service life. This collection brings together the team's most memorable roles in uniform, such as army life in the First World War, as part-time soldiers on a weekend camp and, as a means of soothing Ollie's broken heart, in the French Foreign Legion. Joining the US Navy leads them into battle on a boating lake and, on land, in a traffic jam. They are also shanghaied aboard a ghost ship, create havoc on an ocean liner and, buy their own boat and fill it with water to detect the leaks.
