Super sleuth Inspector Morse (John Thaw - Goodnight Mister Tom and Kavanagh Q.C.) has an ear for music, a taste for beer and a nose for crime. He sets out with Sergeant Lewis (Kevin Whatley - Peak Practice) to solve each intriguing case.

The Wolvercote Tongue
Morse is called to investigate the suspicious death of a wealthy American tourist, Laura Poindexter. She was on a cultural tour of Britain with her husband and their visit to Oxford has a special significance for them. Laura had inherited a precious jewel known as 'The Wolvercote Tongue' and had announced her intention to donate the treasure to the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.

Last Seen Wearing
A school girl from a wealthy family has been missing for six months. Morse is convinced that the girl has been murdered and begins his investigation with Lewis at her boarding school.

The Settling Of The Sun
The tranquil cloisters of Oxford are shaken when a brutal murder of a Japanese student is discovered in what seems to be a ritual killing. Before long Morse has two more deaths on his hands, as the mystery deepens.

Last Bus To Woodstock
The badly beaten body of an 18 year old female insurance clerk is found in a pub car park by her boyfriend. Morse & Lewis uncover a tangled web of hidden passion and corruption at the deceased clerks insurance office.
