Pilot Episode:
Fairly Legal’s opening episode gets right to the heart of the action. In her new role as a legal mediator, Kate Reed returns to work at San Francisco law firm Reed & Reed following the death of her beloved father, the firm’s founder. Kate must learn to work with her demanding stepmother, Lauren, to keep the firm afloat by resolving two matters: firstly a long running dispute between a clothing magnate and the son who’s due to inherit the business, and secondly uncovering the truth behind a dark personal secret that could ruin an innocent boy’s life. Guest starring Ken Howard (Jericho), Patrick Gilmore (SGU: Stargate Universe) and Ty Olsson (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn).

Episode 2: Priceless
Kate mediates a bitter settlement between the State of California and Steve Janks, a wrongfully convicted man who spent 22 years in prison. As Kate tries to put a price on the years he lost, Steve escapes into a prison of his own making, refusing to deal with the pain of his past and causing his world to explode. Dealing with the Janks case helps Kate to put off something unpleasant – the reading of her father’s will. But she can’t dodge its surprising contents forever. Guest starring Paul Schulze (Nurse Jackie).

Episode 3: Benched
Judge Nicastro assigns Kate to mediate a case between a high school football coach, who’s an old friend of Nicastro’s, and angry parents who claim that the coach’s methods border on abuse. When the videotaped evidence doesn’t make any sense to Kate, she unearths the real reason for the coach’s controversial methods. Guest-starring Dean Norris (Breaking Bad).

Episode 4: Bo Me Once
While mediating a dispute between the star of the TV cookery show, Burning With Bo, and the company releasing his barbecue sauce, Kate discovers that Bo’s assistant Beth is actually the brains behind the business and the Bo is holding her up for a bigger slice of the profits. But none of this matters when someone from Beth’s past emerges to claim an even bigger slice for himself. Guest starring Esai Morales (Caprica) and Camille Sullivan (Shattered).

Episode 5: The Two Richards
Kate mediates the settlement between an insurance company and a man who was hit by a truck only to find that the real conflict is between the man and his wife, who claims the husband she knew never came back from the accident. On the side, Kate tried to help Justin solve a problem with a naked neighbour! Stargate SG-1’s Richard Dean Anderson guests.

Episode 6: Believers
The exasperated young inventor of a revolutionary new device, Marcus, threatens to jump to his death when John, his employer and the rights holder to Marcus’ invention, asks Kate to mediate his firing. Kate must get Marcus off the ledge, recover the device, which he’s stolen, and find a fair resolution for both the disenchanted employee and his former boss.

Episode 7: Coming Home
A big client of Reed & Reed asks Kate to mediate a simple financial matter – which quickly morphs into a case of identity theft before escalating to an immigration issue where Kate must defend a brave soldier.

Episode 8: Ultravinyl
Paul Shelton, lead singer of the 1990’s hit wonder band Ultravinyl, seeks Kate’s help to cash in on a lucrative offer for use of their song in a commercial. But when Paul’s former bandmates refuse to negotiate, Paul reveals the real reason he needs Kate’s help.

Episode 9: My Best Friend’s Prenup
Kate’s best friend Julie comes to Reed & Reed for a standard prenuptial agreement. But her father a Tae Kwan Do master, has deep suspicions of his future son in law. Kate investigates, determined to prove him wrong but what she uncovers shocks everyone.
