Akhenaten:
The heretic Pharaoh Akhenaten revolutionized religion, declaring that there was only one god, Aten, the solar disc. This programme looks at the dramatic impact his obsession with religion and art made on Egypt during his reign 3500 years ago.

Hatshepsut:
The daughter of a king, Hatshepsut's burning ambition was to rule. She pushed aside the rightful heir to the throne and, for 22 years, ruled as King of Egypt, wearing the Pharaoh's false beard of authority. This is her incredible story.

Tutankhamen:
The vast treasures of Tutankhamen's tomb have made him the most famous Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. However, nearly all historical record of the mysterious boy-king has been ruthlessly obliterated. This programme investigates his tomb, mummified body, his marriage to his half-sister, the disastrous tragedy of his childlessness and his suspicious death.

Ramses The Great:
Known as the Warrior King, Ramses bragged of his military prowess. So great was his ego that he bricked up the doorways of his father's mortuary temple so he would have more surfaces on which to write his achievements. Arguably the greatest ruler of Ancient Egypt, Ramses is thought to have died in agony of arthritis.

Cleopatra has traditionally been painted as cruel and heartless, but this insightful documentary exposes a Cleopatra never before seen. A monogamous woman who only ever loved two men; a devoted mother and a compassionate queen, committed to improving the livelihoods of those she ruled.
