3:10 to Yuma
In Arizona in the late 1800s, infamous outlaw Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) plagues the Southern Railroad. When Wade is captured, Civil War veteran Dan Evans (Christian Bale) - struggling to survive on his drought-plagued ranch and desperate for money - volunteers need to escort him to the "3:10 to Yuma", a train that will take the killer to trial. During the journey the two men learn grudging mutual respect, but with Wade's cold-blooded gang in hot pursuit, the mission soon becomes a violent dangerous journey where honour and loyalty clash with far-reaching consequences. This superb modern western comes from the director of the Oscar winning Walk The Line.

Bend of the River
Man-with-a-past James Stewart guides a band of pioneers from Missouri over the Oregon Trail to a new life in the Columbia River Basin in this western adventure directed by Anthony Mann. When the settlers are cheated out of their supplies and cattle, Stewart crosses rivers, climbs mountains and out-guns greedy hijackers to ensure their survival through the first winter. Along the way, he is double-crossed by ally Arthur Kennedy and assisted by handsome San Francisco gambler Rock Hudson and beautiful farmer's daughter Julia Adams. Veteran entertainer Stepin' Fetchit is featured as the riverboat cabin boy.

Broken Trail
This epic western mini series, directed by Walter Hill (Deadwood), stars Robert Duvall (Lonesome Dove, Thank You For Smoking) and Thomas Haden Church (Sideways) as an uncle-and-nephew team of cowboys, charged with running a herd of horses through the Wild West. The pair encounter a group of Chinese girls who are being sold into prostitution, and after saving them from that bitter fate, they find themselves charged with their care.

Open Range
Packed with epic action and breathtaking gunfights, Open Range is a powerfully gripping story starring Academy Award winners Robert Duvall and Kevin Costner, and Academy Award nominee Annette Bening. Four cowboys, trying to escape their pasts, are driving cattle and living off the land on the open range - free grazing outside of the law. When ruthless, evil rancher Denton Baxtor (Michael Gambon) tries to run them out of town, the men's peaceful existence takes a violent turn and ends in the grittiest, most explosive gunfight on film as two men battle for honour, justice and a way of life that's quickly disappearing.

Rooster Cogburn
Two of the most popular stars in screen history are brought together for the first time in the adventure-filled follow-up to True Grit. The legendary John Wayne reprises his role of the rascally, eye-patched, whiskey-guzzling U.S. Deputy Marshal that won him an Academy Award. Katharine Hepburn joins him as the prim Eula Goodnight, a missionary who pairs up with the grizzled gunfighter to avenge the death of her father. While in pursuit of the outlaws, a tenderhearted relationship develops between the rough-and-tumble lawman and the flinty reverend's daughter as they join forces to secure justice in the untamed west.

Silverado
This spirited Western stars Academy Award-winner Kevin Kline (1988, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, A Fish Called Wanda), Scott Glenn, Academy Award-winner Kevin Costner (1990, Best Picture and Best Director, Dances With Wolves), and Danny Glover, as four unwitting heroes who cross paths on their journey to the sleepy town of Silverado. Little do they know the town where their family and friends live has been taken over by a corrupt sheriff and a murderous posse. It's up to the sharp-shooting foursome to save the day, but first they have to break each other out of jail, and learn who their real friends are.
