Description

Possibly the best gift for wine lovers ever invented. Whether you're taking a bottle round to dinner at a friend's house, or giving a good bottle to someone as a present, this is without a doubt the best way to give it.

Don't Break the Bottle is an ingenious puzzle - simply lock the bottle up in the puzzle, and hand it over to the lucky recipient. At first sight it appears laughably simple to open, but first impressions are deceptive. It's hugely entertaining watching the recipient go from cocky to puzzled to deeply frustrated - especially whilst everyone else is chipping in with their advice... "No, loop that bit over there, slip that toggle round the whatsit" etc. They'll feel they deserve every last drop if they do finally manage to crack it. If they don't, aside from you crowing, you can put them out of their misery as it does come with release instructions.

Don't Break the Bottle is an ingenious gift idea for that 'perfect host', and fits standard wine, herb vinegar, and olive oil bottles (for non-booze drinkers). It's a great party piece and can be used again and again unless someone gets so frustrated they bring out the power tools.

(Does not include bottle!)

  • 'Don't Break the Bottle' puzzle
  • Works with standard wine, herb vinegar, olive oil, and pop bottles
  • Includes wooden puzzle pieces, linking cord and instructions
  • (Does not include wine!)
  • Size: assorted puzzle pieces - largest 14.5 x 10 x 10cm, smallest 3 x 2 x 2cm

Frustrating!

Gave this to my aunt and uncle for Christmas during the family party. Very funny watching a load of adults acting like children desperate for a fix. Had to ignore the pleading of how to solve the puzzle, and in the end I think one of the kids finally found their way into it! Hours of fun, recommended!

Great fun!

Best idea I've had in a long while. Not only did my Step Father enjoy this gift but also the family visiting. Kept people amused for hours as they kept coming back and having another go. So much better than just turning up with the 'I have no imagination, so here's a bottle of wine!'

Great fun

Thought this looked like a fun present and it was. Kept the family amused for ages although some members did try to 'force' a solution - had to watch them closely. Recommended.

Clever use of string and balls

The instructions were okay, but could do with more pictures. It's quite a simple puzzle to set up and solve, once you know how. However, if you don't know how then it is quite challenging. You can adjust the string so it fits different sized bottles.

Crack a Puzzle, Down a Bottle

This is a fantastic little gift, for wine drinkers and puzzlers alike. The style is stunning, nice solid wood so it looks great whether you've solved the puzzle or not! It's great fun watching people try do it. Highly recommended.

This wine lovers gift is fabulous, lovely wood and very substantial. A great present and will be fun watching the recipient trying to release a vintage bottle of port! Great fun as always, IWOOT always comes up with innovative fun gifts for all the family.

This item is fantastic, recently went to a party and this, with the obligatory bottle of red, went with me. We had a good hour of fun with everyone trying to work out how to get a drink. A great talking piece and one or two wanting to borrow.

Dont break the bottle

This Don't Break the Bottle is a great inexpensive gift that can be used by many. I bought this for my partners birthday and have now given it to a friend for her birthday and I am sure it will not stop there.

fantastic!!

I LOVE this thing! Bought as a christmas gift for my boss who has everything, christmas is still to come but i know they will love it! I had fun just trying to put it together! I was slightly confused by the instructions (its not hard to confuse me) but there's a really simple video on youtube that has it done in seconds. Perfect! Would definitly recommend!

She's going to kill me.

Bought this for my mum and put a bottle of Tia Maria in it. She's going to hate me for depriving her of her favourite alcohol. I feel so fantastically evil.

A good laugh and very addictive at the same time, especially when an expensive bottle of whisky is at stake lol.

Good product

I bought this as a birthday present for a friend & I must admit it is tricky to put together. ( Ended up watching a video on youtube as I couldn't follow the instructions very well!!! ) 3 days later my friend still hasn't managed to get the bottle out!

Lasts longer than you'd expect.

I bought this for my boyfriends parents at Christmas. Now, I had a few fears about this gift. I wanted it to be thoughtful as they love puzzles and wine. Yet my boyfriend told me it'd probably be a waste of money as he suspected they'd work it out in a minute. Then I also didn't want it to be he other way round where they had to saw through the wood to reach the wine! In the end it was perfect- some members worked it out in a few hours and some to this day still can't do it. My present (and wine included-it was posh stuff too!) are taking pride of place on a shelf near the dinner table and they ask guests who come over to try and complete it. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Great purchase!!

This is a great present for all those people you are unsure what to get. My boss has since brought two of these after seeing mine. Really recommend as it is good value for money as it looks really sturdy and expensive.

Intriguing puzzle

Perfect for a 90th birthday prezzy with a bottle of whisky in it! Also perfect for a 35th birthdaty with a bottle of wine in too! In fact, the perfect man's prezzy!

Good but...

Good product, but if you want to send it direct to the present recipient, then its kind of pointless without it coming with a bottle of wine!! I'm not suggesting the wine should be free, but it would be great to be able to send them together all set up!!! Quick delivery though, present was in perfect condition and good fun so I've heard, just a shame I had to use another internet gift web site to send the wine!!

A bit of florish for an otherwise dull present.

You know the feeling, you open the paper...oh..a bottle of wine. thanks. With this it becomes gasps of "Oh wow" and the unmistakable urge to fiddle while others open their gifts. It looks unbelievably easy when you first set eyes on it. A n hour and a half later i was considering cheating an using a hacksaw .. And this was just trying to lock the bottle inside the puzzle WITH the instructions. Needless to say they i didnt supply the instructions with the gift :) (i have a cruel sence of humour) A truley evil piece of genious if ever there was one, should keep you fiddling way past boxing day.

Great gift

I bought this as a communal gift for everyone spending Christmas day at my father's house. Lots of wine lovers among us. Everyone got a great kick out of it. my brother did work it out after a few hours of concentration. I think it took me nearly as long to put it together the night before (with the instructions!). It was a perfect christmas gift but it would also make a great birthday gift for any wine and puzzle lover. Particularly wit a really good bottle of wine locked inside.

Great Purchase

It is a great gift, it got passed round the whole family on Xmas day and no one could work it out, until my uncle came along, but he is just one of those people who can work this sort of stuff out, but my dad, whose gift it was, still can't do it

Great entertainment

This puzzle was really loved by all the family and was passed around all Christmas day. No new visitor to the house could have a drink until they had solved the puzzle!

Very clever!

Christmas morning; a bottle of Taittinger with this device on it = much annoyance for my partner. “Why would you do this to me?”. It might take a while to get the hang of actually attaching this to the bottle, but once you do it makes perfect sense. Though having seen the look of desperation on his face as he contemplated getting a pair of scissors, I wonder if maybe a January detox is in order!

Good fun

I bought this for my sister and fiance who love wine, so i thought this might slow them down abit, and it sure did! The funny thing was i forgot to give them the instructions and they've got no chance of getting it open without them! Would highly recommend for a fun gift or even to take to a party for a bit of fun at the table.

Great Fun

Don't break the bottle gave me fun just trying to set the bottle up in it. For a present it is amazing not only the bottle of wine but it could be several months before the recipiants get the chance to drink it. I have attached it to the bottle but have kept the instructions so they have to admit defeet to get to the bottle unless the manage to beat the puzzle. Although I am not sure I could release the wine without the instructions now!!

I have not used the product yet but I have taken it out of its box and it looks like it will be great fun and it is also it is of good quality. Definately order from this website!

How to Tease a Wine Buff

Don't Break the Bottle has to be one of the best presents ever! It arrived on time, neatly packaged and was easy to assemble. I'm planning on giving this to my uncle for xmas, as he's a bit of a wine buff. I can't wait to see his face go from smug to puzzled to highly frustated as he tries to work it out! I've already tested it on a couple of my friends and no-one has yet managed to crack it. Brilliant! Thanks IWOOT.
