Description

This pocket-sized breathalyser is incredibly easy to use, just blow over the sensor for 3-5 seconds while the built-in timer counts down, then read your test results from the nifty built in LCD. If it reads between 0.05 or 0.08 BAC* the alcohol tester will beep and display a caution symbol to show that you are dangerously close to or over the limit**. If you test between 0.08 and 0.19% the LCD will display a warning symbol letting you know that driving is most definitely off the cards for the evening and probably most of the following day too.

Specification:

Precautions:

  • It's recommended you wait 20 minutes after drinking before taking the test. It takes this long for alcohol to be absorbed into the blood and for any residual alcohol in the mouth to be dissipated.
  • For accurate results wait 3 minutes in between tests.
  • Do not eat or smoke 20 mins prior to testing.
  • Do not use chemicals to clean the tester.
  • Do not blow liquid into the breath pipe.
  • Do not place tester in a closed environment with contaminated air.

Within Limits!

As a birthday gift I bought a hip flask for a chap to take to rugby matches on cold mornings, then I realised he would need to keep an eye on how much he drank from it! I saw your breath testers and bought him OOT and it's the perfect 'stabiliser'. Now he'll never be OTT again!

Well worth it!!!

I never take my car if I'm having a drink but have always worried about the morning after! This little device seems to do exactly what you would expect. It tells you how close you are to the legal drink drive limit or if you're over. I know the manufacturers say that you should not totally except that you are or are not safe to drive from it's results, but at least it gives you a reasonably accurate result and you can make an informed judgement.

The morning after...

Pretty useful for gauging relative sobriety in the morning, though the usual caveats apply. Seems to be quite consistent. Not so good in the evenings, as have to wait 20 minutes since last drink before testing....

a bit of a disappointment

as it only gives a maximum reading of 1.9. I bought it as a stocking filler for christmas day and we used it throughout to see who could get the highest score. I can see why they have limited it to 1.9, to stop the immature party games I bought it for...If it gave the actual reading after 10 Zambucca's rather than the max of 1.9 it woudl be a 5* product.

Useful thing to have

I bought this alcohol tester for my brother for Christmas! Works very fast and its easy to use. It just gives you a peace of mind. Would recommend.

Just what I wanted!

This digital alcohol breath tester was just what I wanted. It is pocket size so will fit nicely in my pocket. It appears to be accurate. It is very easy to use. I trust this tool enough to gamble my driving license :)
