Description

It might look relatively innocuous, but the Video 2 PC device will allow you to bring back all those (slightly grainy) memories in no time at all. Simply install the included EZ Video Converter software, plug the USB end into your computer and the supplied cabling into your VCR, press play and get capturing. 

You can then do with it what you will, even pop it on your iPod if you want that sort of thing available to watch on your commute.

You can also plug it straight into your old camcorder to stop the footage on your old tapes from being eternally consigned to areas of the house that need to be sorted 'at some point'. Have IWOOT staff tested this?

2 different reviews say they can't actually get this to work with their actual video recorders. the 5 star reviews written in way that suggests they might work for the company? this looks interesting if it works but i'd need to see an independent review frankly before purchasing. IWOOT should test it with few different vcrs and if it doesnt work well, stop selling it.

Im sure its great if i could get it to work

I bought this product so i could transfer all of my old home videos onto my laptop. The software installed easily, but after that was when the problems started. Tried this product with 3 different vcrs, 2 different laptops and 2 different videos and could i get it to work?? NOPE! Literally tried everything to get it to work. Maybe it was something me, my dad and my boyfriend were doing wrong??!!

Video 2 PC Better Than The Rest?

Good service from iwoot.co.uk ordered on a saturday recieved on a tuesday. Pleased when opened it as everything was in the box and in good condition. Was quick and easy to install only took a few minutes. Does not come with a scart lead which may be required for an older video player as I have so had to buy that seperate. Takes quite a while to transfer from VHS to PC but am having problems when transferring from PC to DVD. Takes a while to transcode which is expected but does improve the quality of the image and sound from VHS. I am trying to burn a video on to dvd but keeps transcoding for some reason continuously. Offers the option to convert VHS to be able to use with iPod and PSP but requires a lot of patience!

My next purchase

A friend of mine asked me how he could get film footage from a mini DV camcorder onto his Mac, when it has no firewire or USB connection. I remembered seeing something like this on IWOOT so I did a quick search and found this. Although it says not compatible with Mac, because it is compatible with windows, and it is very easy to run windows on Macs via bootcamp now (in fact every new mac has bootcamp installed, all you have to do is buy windows), then you can use it on a Mac that is running windows, and considering what this item does, I think £40 is extremely reasonable! I have sent my friend this link, and I mean to buy it myself as soon as I get some money through! It will mean I can use all my old camcorders again!! 3 stars only because I have not bought/used it yet - I will be sure to add a new review once I have.

Video to PC

This product would appear to be a godsend to people like me with a large library of unknowm videos but I have yet to get it to work. The original RCA cables could not be used on any of my VCRs so I purchased a SCART to RCA converter, still no video signal found. I have now ordered an S-VIDEO cable to see if this works.

Best on The Market

This has to be the best thing I've bought all year, I have tried many other Tape to DVD systems that promise great picture and sound but this is the only one that has ever delivered. You Can store on your hard drive and put on dvd later or go straight to disc, it also has a great screen capture if you want photo's off the Video..
