Sleepers

When best friends John, Tommy, Mike and Shakes are sent to a detention centre for a prank gone dreadfully wrong they become the victims of abuse at the hands of the wardens. Ten years later and each of the boys have gone their separate ways and no longer see each other, apart from John (Ron Eldard) and Tommy (Billy Crudup) who are now small-time gangsters. But when Sean Nokes (Kevin Bacon), one of the guards that abused the boys, is murdered in a restaurant one night, John and Tommy are arrested as the prime suspects. Now Shakes (Jason Patric) and Mike (Brad Pitt) team up to help win their friends’ acquittal and bring down the rest of the guards who tortured them as children. -M.F.
