Flying in a micro-light is a completely different sensation to that in any other aircraft. Unencumbered by all the heavy bits of a fixed wing aircraft, and at a fraction of the size, a micro-light is as close as it gets to free flight without you having to preen yourself regularly, or go through the embarrassment of laying eggs. With very little between you and thin air, you get to see so much more - don't forget to take along a camera!

You will be given a detailed briefing from your instructor, which includes how to use dual controls, how to enter the aircraft and conduct pre-take off checks. You then take to the sky, climbing to up to 1500 feet above ground level in either a flexwing (open cockpit), or fixed wing (closed cockpit - similar to a mini plane) aircraft - please state your preference at the time of booking.

The micro-light cruises at about 55-60 miles an hour, so you'll get to see a lot, and in these two person models, you'll even get the chance to take the controls for a while and make like a bird, albeit a rather large and oddly shaped one. You can choose either a 20-30 minute flight, a 40 minute flight, or a 60 minute flight, they all take place at multiple locations around the UK. Do make sure you call the operator on the morning of your flight to check the weather is fine for flying. No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to get off the planet and sail in the wide open sky.
