In the headlong rush there's a lot of music that's been left behind, which is where this brilliant piece of kit comes in. Whether you've a stack of old 45s, 33s or even 78s (gawd bless you), you can now convert them to MP3s with this USB Turntable.
Obviously it works like any regular turntable, but plug a USB cable into the back of it and then into your computer, and with the software provided you can convert your vinyl into WAV, WMV and MP3s. You can even plug a tape deck into an auxiliary port and convert your old cassettes.
The software makes the transition easy to manage, and is also bundled with a trial version of Bias Soundsoap 2 for cleaning and restoring crackly tracks. It was so nice to get out some of our old vinyls that we hadn't listened to in years, and then pop them into our iPods to take around with us. The conversion of an album is done all in one go, you simply split up the tracks and name them, and you can even record them at double speed to save time and the software will convert them back to 'real' time. It was such a joy to dust off our vinyl and bring it back to life after all these years - we ended up listening to albums we hadn't heard in years.
The ION USB turntable includes Audacity software for Mac/PC for recording as well as a trial of Bias Soundsoap 2 for cleaning and restoring vinyl.
This product is compatible with any software that supports USB audio input sound cards - simply plug it into a spare USB port - it requires no special drivers for Windows (98,2000,XP,Vista) or Mac (OS9 and above).

By default the turntable converts tracks to WAV (high quality uncompressed) files. To convert the WAV files to mp3, you can download the free software that the program points you to or alternatively we here at IWOOT tend to use Acoustica Plus for all our music file conversions, because it's an excellent multi-format music file converter that works direct through windows explorer, and is well worth the ten or so quid it costs.

If you are into music the chances are you still have some of those shiny black pancakes in coloured cardboard sleeves that we used to loving know as LPs! Well, despite having a working turntable, it is easier to put on a CD and so my poor record collection was merely a decorative piece than a valued music paradise. BUT NOT ANY MORE!!!
This fabulous USB Turntable is the best thing to a music lover since sliced bread. The set-up was so simple and within 20 minutes I was recording an LP that I hadn't heard for years onto my PC. Another 20 minutes and all those irritating "pops", "crackles" and scratch sounds were completely gone thanks to the noise reduction recording software that comes free with the turntable. Within an hour a prized LP from my collection that is NOT on CD is now on both my MP3 player and a CD copy for the car!
I'm now doing my gran's 78s for her to a CD - YES, IT EVEN DOES 78s! If that wasn't enough, you can also plug in a tape deck to get rid of "hiss" from your old cassettes too... AND it comes complete with all the leads you need to connect to both your PC and a stand alone Hi-Fi system.

Bought one of these for my 'notoriously hard to buy a present for' boyfriend for Valentines day and have never seen him so happy! He is a closet hoarder and has shelves full of cassettes and LPs that he can no longer play but would dearly love to. This gadget now allows him to relive his past and download all his favourite LPs, cassettes and the hundreds of self-made cassettee compiliations onto his computer and then convert them into either CD or MP3 format. He's been at it night after night and, on the plus side for me, I have finally got full control of the remote for the TV and can watch all the crap I like!

Considering this was the first time I've ever ordered anything from IWOOT, I was very impressed with the speed of the delivery and the product, however I was told over the phone that you cannot supply a replacement stylus but you informed me that they are easy to obtain and are very cheap around £2.00, this isn't the case I could only find one shop in the whole city who does replacements at £9.40 each ! So that is the only problem I had with IWOOT ( you could be honest with the information you supply ) and also a dust cover would be great, but all in all despite everything I'm still really impressed with the product and IWOOT and will definitely be ordering from you again in the future.

I bought a USB turntable as we have lots of vinyls, both singles and LPs to convert. My dad went blind recently and so before doing too many of mine, I took one of his 78s (for a trial run) to convert - and it made him cry! The title - "Daddys Little Girl" bought after my birth - 55 yrs ago! Thanks for the memories.
